32 DAY JOURNEY TO THE CAPE
Johannesburg to Cape Town
This trip covers some of the best natural beauty, cultural heritage and wildlife encounters that southern Africa has to offer. The wildlife rich Kruger National Park and the stunning Blyde River Canyon set the scene for the wonders of Zimbabwe, where we visit the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the Matobo National Park, before arriving at the majestic Victoria Falls. Then it's the vast wilderness that is the Okavango Delta, the unique waterholes of Etosha National Park, the sweeping sand dunes of the Namib-Naukluft Park and the second largest canyon in the world, the Fish River Canyon. There's plenty of adrenaline rushes on offer in Victoria Falls and Swakopmund, and the trip finishes in Cape Town in the shadow of Table Mountain.

VICTORIA FALLS
In November 1855 Dr David Livingstone, the Scottish explorer and missionary, saw the Victoria Falls for the first time. Livingstone named the Falls after the British queen, Victoria.
The local name for the Victoria Falls is Mosi-oa-Tunya ("the smoke that thunders").
The Falls became a World Heritage site in 1986. |

A number of unusual species of plants and animals are found only in this desert. One of these is Welwitschia mirabilis, one of the most unusual species. Welwitschia is a shrub-like plant, but grows just two long, strap-shaped leaves continuously throughout its lifetime. These leaves may be several meters long, gnarled and twisted from the desert winds. The taproot of the plant develops into a flat, concave disc in age. Welwitschia is notable for its survival in the extremely arid conditions in the Namib, sometimes deriving moisture from the coastal sea fogs.
